September 18 Somewhere in Iowa a pig is being raised
Dosed with antibiotics, in a pen so tiny Farmer Joe had to chop off its tail so other pigs would not bite it, little Babe will be turned to ham and bacon in about five months. That’s how our food is being produced. Concentrated-animal feeding operations have replaced Old MacDonald and there’s no turning back. And with the world’s population keen for more and more protein (demand for meat and poultry is set to rise 25% by 2015), things won’t get better. What am I trying to say here? I’m not sure. Maybe being thin is too pricey for people. Check the article out, it is sharply researched and well-crafted. August 26 Saab needs more of these great looking advertsIt will take a lot more then cute ads to revive Saab’s brand and ensure its survival. But, this world-beating gem is a step in the right direction in my opinion. If you saw this on TV, would you stop and pay attention of would you reach for your PVR remote?
July 28 So you think you can hunt?
You think you’re the best browser in town right? You know how to use quotation marks and plus signs to increase your query results? Well, put your mad skills to the test with Microsoft’s Page Hunt online game. There can only be one winner and one geek will rise to the top, will you be the one? The game is very simple and somewhat addictive: you are presented with a random page and asked to type in terms that would have brought that page up as a top five result. Isn’t this a great idea? Depending on how well you do, you will be awarded points and other goodies. I’m not sure if Microsoft will actually use the information to enhance their search engine Bing but I think they should. I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for using Bing, I pretty much always have to switch to Google. I keep going back to Bing because of it’s beautiful, clean and colourful page.

Even the most ferocious defenders of film have conceded defeat. Well, almost everybody. Look at those old-school cameras caught in the wild in the Tokyo jungle. Can you imagine: analogue in Japan of all places. Talk about an anachronism. I was cleaning my basement last weekend (I’ve started yet another Apartment Therapy detox) and found my old film Minolta SLR. You quickly forgot how digital cameras turned the photography world upside down. Do you still shot on film? July 23 Saab’s last car?
You might not know this about me but I’m a huge Swedish design fan. My last two cars have been Swedish and whenever I can, I go for Scandinavian design. It is with mixed-feelings that I introduce you to the latest Saab 9-5 design. This car will be made available sometimes in 2010 and it will be the last model engineered under General Motor’s supervision/ownership. The outgoing 9-5 is an aging car and I honestly don’t think this new design will re-ignite Saab. What do you think?
Head on over to Saab United for more pictures and arguably the most passionate Saab discussion tread on the web.
